Fly Tying Classes
Fly Tying classes have started here at the FadedFly. If you have an interest in beginning Fly Tying, than you are in luck! Faded Fly will be sponsoring instructors to come and share the knowledge with those who want to learn our art.
For advanced tiers, we will be holding “Fly Specific” courses for individuals or for your club members. If you are interested in having a class with just your members, please let us know so we can schedule a time and date to teach.

Casting Clinics
Interestingly enough, there is a very large population that have Fly Gear and have no idea how to use it. Enter the Faded Fly! Our primary focus is on education.
All children under the age of 14 learn to cast for FREE. We also give you casting lessons or a brush up, if you purchase a rod from us. If we can help you learn how to use your gear, maybe even catch more fish, then why not? Starting this spring, we will be sponsoring casting instructors to come and show you how. Join the newsletter so you can keep you up to speed on the latest events.
Spey Casting Workshops
Just as the old song implies “everybody’s doing it, doing it, doing it “casting the spey.
Casting the Spey is an art unto its own. I have watched people cast and cover the majority of big waters like our Own Salmon and Clearwater rivers without taking a step.
Personally I was raised as a single handed caster; several years ago, a friend from Montana taught me how to cast a single handed rod spey style. It is so cool, we decided to ask guest casters to come and share the wealth with us. Join one of our spey workshops and kill your curiosity.
Rod Building Classes
Our Rod Building classes have been widely attended and fun. We have started classes on a one on one basis, giving you the very best attention to detail we can. If you have an interest in a Fly Rod project, come and join us. After all, winter is the very best time to "gear up".
Faded Fly will be teaching rod building classes for beginning and advanced rod building. We will teach you start to finish and even a few "do it yourself" component classes. Techniques, finishes, trim, even turning your own reel seats..How does that grab you?
Entomology
Entomology (from Greek ἔντομος, entomos, "that which is cut in pieces or engraved/segmented", hence "insect"; and -λογία, -logia) is the scientific study of insects, a branch of arthropodology. At some 1.3 million described species, insects account for more than two-thirds of all known organisms
Here at the Faded Fly we strive to help you become a better Fly Angler. One way is to teach you the general study of bugs or Entomology. There are classes that are specific to certain waters as well as genreal Entomology. Please join us in clinics that will help you better identify the bugs we use and further your success on the water.
