Rod and Reel Care

Faded Fly llc. Would like your ECHO experience to be a good one and we ask that you take care of your equipment with the following regular maintenance:
For rods, wash all saltwater off every component of a rod with fresh water at the end of every fishing day. Pay extra attention to the space where the guide meets the blank and to the metal parts of the reel seat. Use a few drops of any reel oil or grease on the threads to keep the reel seat operating smoothly. Paraffin wax can be used on the ferrules if needed to ensure a proper fit.

For reels, the washing off should be followed by a quick lubrication session. The reel should be taken apart periodically and greased with any high quality reel grease. Apply a film of grease on all moving parts including the friction disc. The cup washers located under the drag knob should be kept lubricated regularly with a heavy coating of grease to prevent oxidation.
