Larry Aiuppy Bio 

    Laurance B. "Larry" Aiuppy is a lifelong outdoorsman and master fly fisher who began fishing at his grandfather’s knee before age five. Born and raised in fly fishing mecca Pennsylvania, he began fly fishing by age nine. He has been fly fishing for 55 years, and has fished extensively across North America and overseas for a wide range of cold water, warm water, freshwater, saltwater and anadromous fish species. He has lived and fished in the northern Rockies since 1971. Larry is a life member of Trout Unlimited (TU), a longtime member of the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF), the Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA), and the Wild Steelhead Coalition.

    A lifelong student of fly casting, Larry is a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor (FFF CI) and FFF Certified Two-Handed Spey Casting Instructor (FFF THCI), providing private lessons as Zen Casting with Larry Aiuppy. He is currently the only THCI in Montana or Wyoming, the only fly fishing tackle sales representative in the United States with a Two-Handed Casting Instructor Certification, and one of only about 25 FFF Two-Handed Certified Casting Instructors in the entire United States.

   He is a member of the exclusive Guideline Power Team pro staff, and serves as a consultant on two-hand rod design and spey lines for Rajeff Sports LLC (Echo & Airflo products). Larry is a frequent guest instructor and demonstration caster at regional “spey claves” and spey events, like the Clearwater Spey Clave and Salmon River Of No Return Spey Clave, in the Northern Rockies. He is available for private instruction, casting clinics and demonstrations of single hand and two hand spey and overhead casting techniques.

As a fly fishing tackle sales representative in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming he represents Tim Rajeff’s Echo rods, reels and fly lines; Airflo fly lines, leaders, and accessories; Guideline NA products; Bauer Premium Fly Reels; and StreamWorks angler’s tools and accessories.

Larry and his wife Jan, who is both his fly fishing and business partner, are full-time residents of Livingston, Montana, on the beautiful and undammed Yellowstone River. Ph. 406-222-7308.
